When we start. We begin building as soon as your payment clears — usually the same working day, and always within one working day of your order. If you pay by bank transfer that is typically the same day; if we send you a payment link, it is the moment the payment settles. Your statutory 30-day delivery period runs from the day you order.
1. Where we deliver
Free tracked delivery applies to mainland UK addresses. We also deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, and to selected destinations outside the UK — in these cases a delivery charge may apply, and we will always quote it and get your agreement before you pay, so there are never any surprise charges.
If your address is outside mainland UK, contact us at orders@brakehard.co.uk or call 0800 654 6845 before ordering and we will confirm the cost and timescale in writing.
2. How long it takes
Delivery usually takes 14–21 working days from the day you order — about two to three weeks. We will deliver within 30 days of your order. The window shown on your order page is calculated from the day you view it.
Occasionally it takes a little longer — for example if you have built your own M7 to a custom design, if a model is being built to order, or during holiday periods and severe weather. Either way, we deliver within 30 days, and if anything is going to hold your delivery up we will contact you with a revised date rather than leave you guessing.
If we have not delivered within 30 days of our agreeing a date with you — or, where no date was agreed, within 30 days of the contract — you may tell us to deliver within an additional reasonable period, and if we still fail to deliver you may cancel that part of the order and get a full refund. This is your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
3. Tracking your delivery
- We email your tracking reference as soon as your bike leaves the warehouse.
- Tracking usually becomes active within a few hours of dispatch.
- If your tracking has not updated for more than 3 working days, contact us and we will chase the carrier for you.
If you have not received a tracking email within 10 days of your payment clearing, please check your spam folder and then contact us — it usually means we have the wrong email address on file rather than that anything has gone missing.
4. How your bike arrives
- Your bike arrives boxed and approximately 90% pre-assembled.
- You will need to complete final assembly — typically fitting the front wheel, handlebars, pedals and mirrors where applicable, and setting tyre pressures.
- Final assembly and a full safety check must be completed before you ride the bike. Check brakes, steering, all fixings, tyre pressures and battery condition. If you are not confident doing this yourself, have it done by a qualified mechanic. Incorrect assembly can cause serious injury and is not covered by the warranty.
- Keep the packaging until you have completed your checks and are satisfied.
5. Delivery address and receiving the bike
- Please give us a complete, accurate address, including the postcode, and a phone number we can pass to the carrier.
- Bikes are large and heavy. The carrier will need safe access, and in many cases a signature on delivery. Please make sure someone will be there.
- If a delivery attempt fails because nobody was available, the carrier will normally leave a card and try again, or hold the bike at a depot. Re-delivery charges may apply and we will tell you the amount before arranging it.
- If you ask us to leave the bike somewhere unattended, you do so at your own risk.
- Please tell us about access restrictions in advance — narrow lanes, height barriers, flats without a lift, or a location where a large vehicle cannot reach.
6. If your bike arrives damaged
Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered. Please check the packaging before signing where you can.
- Where possible, note any visible damage on the carrier's paperwork and photograph it before the driver leaves.
- Even if you did not notice at the door, inspect the bike within 48 hours of delivery and contact us immediately if you find transit damage. Photographs of the packaging and the bike help us sort it out fast.
- Reporting within this window lets us claim against the carrier quickly and replace parts without argument. It does not affect your legal rights — if goods arrive damaged, misdescribed or not of satisfactory quality, you are protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 regardless of when you tell us. See Returns & warranty.
7. Deliveries outside the UK
If you are ordering from outside the UK, please contact us first. For international deliveries:
- Any import duties, taxes or customs charges levied by the destination country are your responsibility and are not included in the price you pay us.
- We will tell you in writing, before you pay, what delivery charge applies to your destination.
- Lithium batteries are classified as dangerous goods and are subject to transport restrictions. Some destinations and some carriers cannot accept them. If we cannot ship a battery to your location, we will tell you before you pay, and we will not take your money.
- Refusing to pay customs charges, or refusing delivery, may mean the bike is returned to us. In that case we will refund the bike price less the outbound and return shipping costs that we have already incurred.
8. If your order goes missing
If tracking shows your bike as delivered but you do not have it, contact us within 48 hours. We will raise an investigation with the carrier. Where the carrier confirms a loss, we will either send a replacement or refund you in full — your choice. We do not ask you to claim from the carrier yourself.
